Patrick enjoys a day in the field with a group of hunters. There is nothing like a crisp fall day watching dogs that you’ve raised and introduced to birds, seeing their excitement, and the thrill that those dogs bring to that group of hunters. That love of the dogs and upland quail hunting is why he established Blackburn Fork Preserve. He loves to tell stories of other hunts and you’ll enjoy spending the day on the Preserve with him as your guide.

When asked why he loved upland quail hunting, Steve’s response was, “Why not?! It’s hard to beat a day of watching a dog finding birds and seeing guys having a good time.” Steve was introduced to quail hunting by his father when he was very young. He grew up in the sport, and is involved in every aspect of the sport. He works field trials, works part-time on a quail farm, trains bird dogs, and guides hunts. He’s very knowledgeable about the sport, and has lots of experience. You won’t be disappointed spending a day with him in the field as your guide.
